Crawford shuts down Detroit translator

April 26, 2018 By Blaine

Cumulus owns AAA/WQKL (107.1fm, Ann Arbor), and they started receiving complaints after Crawford Broadcasting signed on FM translator W296DY (107.1fm, Detroit), as a simulcast of their Religious/WRDT (560am, Monroe).  Crawford tried fixing the interference by reducing their 60 watts of power to 30 watts, but the WQKL listener complaints didn’t stop.  Crawford will work to find a new transmitter site for their FM translator, and they’ve shut off the FM translator in the meantime.
